How it works: Image to Base64

  1. Drop the image in. Base64 is set.
  2. Convert and open the text file. Use its content directly as src or url().

All features are available in the tool All-In-One File Converter.

Frequently asked questions

Is it worth it for large images?

No. Base64 makes the data about a third larger, and the browser cannot cache it separately. It is good for icons under a few kilobytes.

How does this tool work?

Converts files across multiple domains (3D/CAD meshes, video, raster & vector graphics, firmware & ROMs, structured datasets, documents, audio) directly in your browser.

Drop files into the upload zone or select them via file picker. The tool automatically detects each file category and populates compatible target formats. Convert files individually or in batch with a live progress bar, then download them one by one or bundled into a single ZIP archive. All processing runs 100% locally on your machine.

Where are my data processed?

Only in your browser. Your data is not sent to any server.

The tool calculates and converts with JavaScript right on your device. Input and files are not sent to us or anyone else. You can check this yourself: load the page, disconnect from the internet, and the tool keeps working in the open tab.
