Compress & Resize Images
Phone photos are often 4 to 8 MB these days. Too much for an email or a form with a 2 MB limit. With quality around 80 percent and a slightly lower resolution you usually end up with a fraction of that, and the image looks the same.
How it works: Compress & Resize Images
- Drop the images into the box.
- Set the quality and, if needed, reduce the size with the scale setting.
- Compare the result with the slider and download.
All features are available in the tool Image Compressor.
Frequently asked questions
Which quality should I use?
For photos, 75 to 80 percent is a good starting point. Below that you eventually see banding in skies and skin tones.
My image has to be under 1 MB. How?
Besides the quality, set the scale to about 50 percent. A photo 2000 pixels wide is enough for almost any screen.
