Frequently asked questions

How many hosts does a /24 network have?

A /24 network has 256 addresses, 254 of which are usable for hosts, because the network and broadcast addresses are excluded.

Does it support IPv6?

The calculator is built for IPv4 and shows netmask, address range, broadcast and the number of usable hosts.

How does this tool work?

Calculate IP subnets and visualize CIDR network masks.

Enter an IP address and a CIDR prefix (e.g. /24). The tool calculates network address, usable host addresses, broadcast address, and wildcard mask. A 32-bit grid visualizes the division into network and host bits.
