Frequently asked questions

How many colors should I pick?

8 is enough for a logo. For photos with lots of gradients, 16 to 32 colors capture the mood better.

I only need one specific color from the image.

The eyedropper in the color detector tool is better for that. You click exactly the spot you want.

Upload an image. The tool analyzes the image pixels locally in your browser via a canvas element, using a median-cut quantization algorithm to find the top 8 to 64 colors. Click a color to copy its HEX value, or export the palette as a text file.
