## How it works

Professional browser-based Serial Terminal providing direct bidirectional communication with any serial device, microcontroller, modem, embedded system, or USB-to-UART interface via the modern Web Serial API. Runs locally and without desktop software installation.

Supports standard and custom baud rates from 300 to 2,000,000+ baud; real-time interactive character streaming with local echo; full ANSI/VT100 graphic rendition (16-color, 256-color palette, 24-bit TrueColor RGB, bold, italic, underline); raw HEX dump inspector for binary protocols; configurable UART framing (data bits, stop bits, parity, hardware RTS/CTS flow control); hardware handshake lines (DTR, RTS, CTS, DSR, CD, RI); automatic copy-on-select (Auto-Copy); full-screen Focus Mode; quick commands/macros; command history navigation; live text filtering and log file export.

Built on the W3C Web Serial API (navigator.serial) for low-latency USB-CDC and UART hardware communication. Processes binary streams using typed arrays (Uint8Array) and standard TextDecoder/TextEncoder pipelines. Supports standard and custom baud rates, 8N1/7E1/7O1 framing, DTR/RTS line control, and hardware flow control. Runs 100% client-side in the browser with zero external network transmission.
