# Record Your Screen

> Record your screen, a single window or a browser tab as a video. No installation, no watermark and no time limit.

For a quick how-to for colleagues, a bug you want to show support, or a video meeting to watch again later. You choose what gets recorded and end up with a video file in WebM format.

- Open in browser: https://pockettoolbox.org/en/screen-recorder-online
- Tool: [Screen Recorder](https://pockettoolbox.org/en/screen-recorder)
- Runs entirely in your browser; files and input are never uploaded.

## How it works

1. Click "Start Recording".
2. In the browser dialog, choose the whole screen, a window or a tab.
3. Stop, check the preview and download the video.

## FAQ

### Is sound recorded too?

If you enable the option and the browser supports it. Chrome and Edge reliably record a tab's audio, Firefox and Safari often do not.

### What do I do with a WebM file?

Chrome, Firefox, VLC and YouTube play WebM directly. For programs that only know MP4, open the video in the video editor and export it as MP4.

### Does it work on a phone?

Usually not. Mobile browsers do not allow screen recording, but iPhone and Android have their own feature for it.
