# German Company Car Tax Calculator

> Calculate the taxable benefit of a company car in Germany: 1% for combustion cars, 0.5% for plug-in hybrids, 0.25% for EVs, plus commute. Including the effect on net pay.

Before taking a company car with a new job in Germany, it is worth running the numbers. The calculator shows the monthly taxable benefit, how much less net pay you keep and how it compares to a private car.

3. Read off the taxable benefit and the effect on net pay.

## FAQ

### Why the list price and not the purchase price?

German tax law uses the gross list price at first registration including extras, even if the car was bought used or at a discount.

### When does the 0.25% rule for EVs apply?

For pure electric cars with a gross list price up to €70,000. More expensive EVs are taxed at 0.5%.
